Making Bulk Simple

1st March 2019

Roger founded Roger Warnes Transport to challenge how the bulk haulage industry operated, especially in the haulage of sugarbeet in the local area. He ran a fleet of custom-built beet cleaners partnered with Hanomag loading shovels, enabling lorries to be loaded in under 5 minutes! More recently RWT was the first in the UK to adopt the Ropa Euro Maus for loading sugar beet, although not speeding the loading time it improves efficiency, makes the customers life simpler and reduces the impact of the operation on the environment.

Sugarbeet is just an example, but it’s this commitment to service, simplicity and innovating within our industry, the same thing that drives us today.

How do we do this?
Modern Fleet of Vehicles - 4 year vehicle replacement plan, on our current fleet of 106 vehicles, 2 new vehicles per month. This means we are running one of the most modern, economically friendly (Euro 6) bulk haulage fleets in the UK. For our customers this means minimum downtime for breakdowns and peace of mind that the vehicles used are some of the greenest on the market today.

Professional Workforce - We have a very low staff churn and do not suffer from the industry wide problem of not being able to attract drivers. Our drivers are well paid, on an hourly basis which doesn’t put pressure on them to rush the job. We use top of the line TomTom telematics to keep an eye on things

Supplier Partnerships - Our partnership with TDI Software provides us with market leading solutions for our Traffic Management (Transmas) and Tachograph Analysis (Disc Check). This means our customers can see live information on their orders, reducing the need for phone calls and ultimately saving time. Possibly the first in our sector to offer this?
DAF/Ford and Slater are our vehicle supply and maintenance partner. They’re incredible and we’re constantly amazed at the exceptional level of customer service.

Honesty! – We will not be the haulier telling you the vehicle planned to do your work has had a puncture or the driver has turned in sick. That’s not your problem! What we will do is let you know as soon as possible that the order will not be fulfilled as per the initial agreement. We will then work with you to come up with the next best solution. We do not miss many orders, but this is transport, things go wrong.

We aim to stay agile, to adapt to every customer individual requirement and make their life as simple as possible. Whether you want one load moved or for us to manage your bulk haulage from start to finish please contact us.
